  • The first edition of the Global Challenges Science Week 2019 will take place from June 3rd to 6th, 2019 in the World Trade Center of Grenoble.
  • A scientific seminar about circular economy will take place on the 6th of June in the amphitheater Gosse at Grenoble INP Génie industriel from 1:30pm to 3pm. David Peck, senior Research Fellow, Critical Materials and Circular Design at Delft University of Technology, will introduce the principles of a circular economy, and outline how a CE approach encourages sustainability and competitiveness in the long term.
  • About fifty researchers attended the first general assembly of the Circular project at Grenoble INP the 5th of April, 2018.
  • During the Circular kick-off meeting we will introduce the project background, what will be done and how and we will provide procedures to be able to work together effectively. This meeting will give you the opportunity to get the key information on the project and the ability to share your understanding of the project. Don't miss out on this opportunity!

The Circular project

Industrial systems will have to face the main Industry of the Future challenges: resource scarcity, energy efficiency, customization expectations, job quality required by the fourth industrial revolution, etc. This project will show that agile circular industrial systems will give companies the ability to satisfy those requirements while proposing new high-added-value products while minimizing the use of material and energy resources.

We want to move towards a circular economic “take-make-consume-reuse” model instead of a classical linear “take-make-consume-dispose” model. The main scientific obstacles are production systems agility, human/ machine collaboration, implementation of the numerical solutions and design and implementation of the new necessary organizations.
